چکیده

In this paper we study the quadratic regulator problem for a process governed by a Volterra integral equation in IR. Our main goal is the proof that it is possible to associate a Riccati differential equation to this quadratic control problem, which leads to the feedback form of the optimal control. This is in contrast with previous papers on the subject, which confine themselves to study the Fredholm integral equation which is solved by the optimal control.

About One Sweep Algorithm for Solving Linear-Quadratic Optimization Problem with Unseparated Two-Point Boundary Conditions

In the paper a linear-quadratic optimization problem (LCTOR) with unseparated two-point boundary conditions is considered. To solve this problem is proposed a new sweep algorithm which increases doubles the dimension of the original system. In contrast to the well-known methods, here it refuses to solve linear matrix and nonlinear Riccati equations, since the solution of such multi-point optimi...

A meshless method for optimal control problem of Volterra-Fredholm integral equations using multiquadratic radial basis functions

In this paper, a numerical method is proposed for solving optimal control problem of Volterra integral equations using radial basis functions (RBFs) for approximating unknown function. Actually, the method is based on interpolation by radial basis functions including multiquadrics (MQs), to determine the control vector and the corresponding state vector in linear dynamic system while minimizing...

Mesh Independence of Kleinman--Newton Iterations for Riccati Equations in Hilbert Space

In this paper we consider the convergence of the infinite dimensional version of the Kleinman–Newton algorithm for solving the algebraic Riccati operator equation associated with the linear quadratic regulator problem in a Hilbert space. We establish mesh independence for this algorithm and apply the result to systems governed by delay equations. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate t...

A wavelet method for stochastic Volterra integral equations and its application to general stock model

In this article,we present a wavelet method for solving stochastic Volterra integral equations based on Haar wavelets. First, we approximate all functions involved in the problem by Haar Wavelets then, by substituting the obtained approximations in the problem, using the It^{o} integral formula and collocation points then, the main problem changes into a system of linear or nonlinear equation w...

Optimal Control for Descriptor Systems: Tracking Problem (RESEARCH NOTE)

Singular systems have been studied extensively during the last two decades due Abstract to their many practical applications. Such systems possess numerous properties not shared by the well-known state variable systems. This paper considers the linear tracking problem for the continuous-time singular systems. The Hamilton-Jacobi theory is used in order to compute the optimal control and associa...
